Writing great prompts

Prompts are the most important thing you'll configure. Good prompts produce meaningful data; vague prompts produce noise.

Think of prompts as the questions your future customers ask AI models. Kinsho asks them for you — every day, across every engine — and measures how your brand appears in the responses.

  • 01RecommendationWhich CRM is best for a 20-person marketing agency?
  • 02ComparisonHow does Notion compare to Coda for startups?
  • 03Problem-firstOur Shopify store is slow on mobile — what tools diagnose it?

Five principles for great prompts

01
Be conversational, not a keyword
Write "What's the best CRM for marketing agencies under 50 people?" — not "best CRM agencies".
02
Cover real buyer intent
Mix comparison, recommendation, evaluation, and problem-first queries.
03
Stay category-level, not branded
Don't mention your brand in the prompt. You're measuring whether AI mentions you unprompted.
04
Localize per market
Write prompts in the language and tone your customers use. Kinsho handles Japanese, Chinese, German and English natively.
05
Start small, iterate weekly
Begin with 8–15 high-signal prompts. Review results after a week and refine.

Tagging prompts

Use tags to group prompts by funnel stage, persona, product line, or market. Tags let you filter dashboards and see, for example, how visibility differs for "discovery" vs "comparison" prompts.

Filter dashboards Pick one or more tags on any chart to slice visibility, sentiment, and position by segment.

Once tags exist, they show up next to every prompt in the dashboard and become filters on every chart. Here’s what the prompts list looks like after tagging:
